House on Lough Currane
Located on a sloping site on the banks of Lough Currane, this house enjoys spectacular views to the south. Taking advantage of the site, this split-level house is an “upside-down” house, with the main living areas on the upper floor and bedrooms to the lower floor. The lower floor is clad in Valentia slate, stonework local to the area, with the glazed bedroom doors painted black. This allows the lower floor to disappear into the hill, giving the appearance of a single-storey structure from the lakeside.
